Ultrasert I

Vertical flutes & horizontal fins provide superior assembly strength. Tapered design assures rapid & accurate alignment prior to installation.

Ultrasert I is a fluted brass insert designed for ultrasonic or heat installation into thermoplastics. The tapered design allows for accurate positioning of the insert in the receiving hole insuring proper alignment prior to installation. The vertical flutes provide resistance to rotation and the stepped inclined ribs are for tensile strength. The gradual external taper optimizes the flow of plastic at the insert/plastic interfaces permitting a smooth and rapid installation.

Ultrasert II

The most widely accepted and used insert in the plastics industry today.

Ultraset II (Short)

They are tapered brass inserts designed for ultrasonic or heat installation into thermoplastics and structural foam materials. The external configuration features parallel diagonal knurls for optimum torque resistance and undercuts for superior tensile strength. A flange provides positive pressure to the molten plastic assuring complete filling of the knurls and undercuts for high assembly strength. The tapered design allows for rapid and accurate positioning of the insert prior to installation. There are two standard lengths for each thread size for design flexibility.

Ultraset II (Long)

  • Diagonal knurls & under cuts provide superior assembly strength.
  • Excellent design for automated systems.
  • Installed ultrasonically or with heat.
  • Two lengths to choose from for design flexibilty.

Ultrasert II (Screw-Lock)

Ultrasert II Screw-Lock inserts have a unique internal locking element that locks the screw in place.

The prevailing torque action prevents screws from loosening under vibration. They are also excellent in adjusting screw applications. The locking element is a modification to the internal thread profile and is reusable for many cycles. This eliminates the need and expense for plastic pellets or patches, lock washers or messy locking compounds. The insert dimensions and receiving hole sizes are the same as those for the standard Ultrasert II long length inserts.

  • Unique internal locking element
  • Locks screws in place

Ultrasert III

A symmetrical brass insert designed for high volume production.

The inserts can be installed ultrasonically, with heat or can be molded in. The double-ended design eliminates orientation of the insert and simplifies insert feeding in automated assembly processes. The external configuration features opposing diagonal knurls which provide torque resistance and undercuts for tensile strength. The lead-in pilots provide rapid and accurate positioning of the insert prior to installation.

  • Symmetrical design for low cost, high volume production
  • No orientation required

Ultrasert IV

A parallel sided brass insert designed for ultrasonic or heat installation into thermoplastics or structural foam materials.

Opposing diagonal knurls provide excellent torque resistance, and undercuts are for tensile strength. Ultrasert IV is designed to be installed into straight holes. A lead-in pilot at the end of the insert accurately positions the insert prior to installation.

  • Provides high tensile & rotational strength
  • Installed ultrasonically or with heat
  • Lead-in pilot positions insert for installation
  • Parallel sides for installation into straight holes

Ultrasert IV (Flange)

The Ultrasert IV Flanged insert has the same characteristics as the standard Ultrasert IV with the added benefit of a flange on the knurled end.

The flange provides a large bearing surface which is advantageous in weaker plastics. For high strength assemblies, they can be used in a reverse screw entry position where the load is taken up by the flange, i.e., screw entry opposite flange end. The flange can also be used to make an electrical contact or for fastening terminal connectors.

  • Flange provides larger bearing surface
  • Same characteristics as Ultrasert IV
